I’m Doneshia Codjoe and I’m running for Mayor of Monee. A proud resident of Monee for over 15 years. I am currently in my second term as your Monee Village Clerk.
My family and I love our Village – that’s why I want to see it be the best it can be. Our options for fun for the whole family are limited. We’re in a food desert. Our neighborhood parks need to be updated. Our drinking water is in poor shape and we need more businesses, which is the only way to reduce our property taxes.
As Mayor, I pledge that I will work to create UNITY in our community. Here are some of our goals:
- Work to bring Monee out of the food desert by bringing a grocery store..
- Improve the quality of our water that damages our appliances, grosses out our guests and takes money out of our wallets. .
- Bring more year round entertainment & activities for all ages to our Village. .
- Improve communication to and with the residents so that they are not missing out on important issues or vital emergent information – and making sure we are listening to them, not just the insiders. .
- Working to improve the infrastructure to ensure its longevity.
