Empower NYC is an independent expenditure committee (IE) organized under New York law. Under the City’s public matching system, campaigns that opt in face strict limits on contributions and spending. That’s why independent voices like ours play an essential role in citywide elections.
While we do not coordinate with any candidate or campaign — as required by law — we are permitted to support a candidate’s election and advocate for their success through independent communications and voter education.
