I grew up on a Christmas Tree farm (only 5 or 6 acres) in Central Bucks with my depression-era grandparents, mother, and brother. My grandparents were the biggest influence in my life, along with my father and grandfather being veterans. My elders’ strength through adversity taught me to root for the underdog, soak up other cultures, and read as much as possible.
As a fiercely proud resident of the East Penn School District, I am a local parent, property owner, property/casualty insurance underwriter, and Vice President of the Lower Macungie Middle School Parent-Teacher Association. Being the #1 fan of my daughter who is a current LMMS student, I am intimately aware of challenges that families have faced as an East Penn community since COVID hit. The pandemic showed for my daughter and I that we needed a
change – so I became a remote worker, and we moved to Emmaus.
I graduated from St Andrews Presbyterian College with a BFA in creative writing, and my career has been in the property/casualty insurance industry for the last 27 years. I work with the public, insurance agents and carriers, which I believe has prepared me well for the role that School Board Directors play when balancing multiple stakeholders. I also believe my professional experience will be of great use in informing my work as a School Director.
If elected as School Board Director, I will use my professional background and life experience to work with the community, teachers, staff, and administrators, to ensure all students are future-ready and that we are prepared for the challenges ahead.
