John Hock for Judge
John Hock has over 15 years of experience as a lawyer and litigator in the civil and criminal legal arenas. Currently an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, John represents the State of Illinois in the post-conviction process, upholding trial convictions and ensuring integrity of the justice system.

His experience representing people suffering from mental health issues and addiction, as well as justice-involved veterans and people living in poverty, informs his work and provides unique experience to balance all of the important interests before the court.

As judge in the 18th judicial subcircuit, John will serve with integrity, fairness and a deeply held belief that everyone in our society should have access to representation and a voice in the justice system.

John was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. He, his wife, Cristin, and their two daughters live in Des Plaines, where he is active as a youth sports coach and volunteers throughout the community.
