Judge Chris Brown is a lifelong resident of Central Ohio. He was raised in Merion Village, a small neighborhood in southeast Columbus. He attended Columbus South High School (GO BULLDOGS!), where he graduated in 1998. Chris graduated from The Ohio State University in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminology. He attended Capital University Law School graduating in 2005. While studying at Capital, he worked part-time as a legal intern for the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, writing legal briefs for felony criminal cases.
Upon graduating and passing the Ohio Bar Exam, Chris was hired as an assistant county prosecutor, starting in the juvenile division. He worked his way up through the felony Grand Jury division and was awarded a position in the Special Victims Unit, prosecuting violent felony cases involving sexual assault and domestic abuse. In 2009, Ohio Super Lawyers magazine awarded Chris the Rising Star honor as a young up-and-coming attorney.
In 2014, Judge Chris Brown was elected to the Franklin County Common Pleas Court, becoming one of the youngest elected Judges in the court's history. He currently lives in Bexley with his wife, Jennifer, and two young daughters.
