As a long-time resident of Lane County and a proud LCC alumnus, I look forward to working on these important issues:
Access to LCC for All students
- I will work to increase access and opportunity for all students including traditional (18 - 22 years), non-traditional, adult learners, high school students, traditionally marginalized students, English language learners, students of color, LGBTQ+, and justice system-involved students.
Student Needs
- I will work to meet student needs by developing plans for more hybrid classrooms, more convenient schedules (online and in-person), more financial, educational, and emotional support for students, as well as excellent/innovative teaching, and increased competency-based certificates.
Localization
- I will work with local employers and businesses to create innovative workplace programs, focus on local/regional manufacturing/service/technology/health provider needs, to prepare students for meaningful jobs now and in the future.
I have 40 years of experience as a construction engineer, business owner, researcher, university professor, and public sector consultant. I understand what it takes for students to thrive and succeed in higher education and what skills are needed in the workplace, now and in the future.
I can lead Lane Community College to meet the challenges and opportunities for its students and the community.
