Judge Rolonda V. Mitchell is an experienced Associate Judge in Will County with extensive experience in family law and criminal law courtrooms. She is now running for Circuit Judge in Will County's 2nd Subcircuit because of her unwavering commitment to public service and justice. She was born in Joliet and comes from a union family with a military background. As a Judge, she is dedicated to ensuring equal access to justice for all individuals, regardless of their background or status.

Judge Rolonda's extensive experience is a testament to her commitment to public service and her dedication to justice. She has worked as a Will County Attorney, where she focused on family law, traffic/DUI, criminal law, foreclosure mediation/defense, and Illinois Secretary of State Driver’s License reinstatement. Additionally, she has owned a business, taught in public high schools, and served as the Ethics Advisor in Will County, where she investigated all ethical violations and conducted yearly training for all Will County government employees.
Judge Rolonda is actively involved in her community. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Will County Bar Association, Will County Women’s Bar Association, and past president of the Black Bar Association of Will County. She has also served on the Board of Directors for Prairie State Legal Services (Legal Aid), the Warren-Sharpe Community Center, Unity CDC, and the Will County Workforce Investment Board. Further, she is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and has participated in numerous Will County Expungement workshops and Know Your Rights workshops with local police officers.
