Shay is a lifelong Nebraskan, originally growing up in Paxton, then eventually moving to Crete to attend Doane University. Shay obtained her law degree from UNL and returned to Crete where she and her partner have built a successful general practice law firm. As an attorney, Shaylene has been helping southeast Nebraska residents for more than 30 years, helping clients form small businesses, transfer family farms, and deal with life’s bumpy roads. Shay is an independent who is focused on local issues. She has been deeply involved in her community, supporting its economic success. From leading the charge to renovate and reopen the Isis Theatre to working with city leaders on a comprehensive economic plan, Shay’s efforts to build and rebuild southeast Nebraska are ongoing. She is currently an active P.E.O. and the President of the Crete Rotary Club, which is in the process of replacing the playground equipment in Crete’s Rotary Park this year. Shay and her husband, Michael, have raised their three children in Crete and have 3 foster dogs. Thank you for donating and helping elect Shay to the Nebraska State Legislature!
