Shonta Ford has resided in the Lehigh Valley for the past 23 years. She is a New Jersey native who graduated from Rutgers University with a Degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. She has had a beneficial career working in Health Care. Her last corporate role was as a Project Manager for a Fortune 500 company. Shonta believes in fiscal responsibility and prides herself as a problem solver. You can confirm this with her son and daughter. Shonta has raised her two children in Pennsylvania and her youngest spent her entire educational experience in the East Penn School District.
Shonta has a passion for Community. She actively Volunteers locally in many capacities through her church where she is a licensed Reverend. She serves as a local Outreach Coordinator where she works with local non-profit organizations supporting food pantries, displaced families, and school district benevolent programs. Shonta has a deep appreciation for Public School Systems and credits her Guidance Counselor with helping her get into college and securing a four-year scholarship. Shonta also Mentors women and students in several capacities. She loves giving back and can always be found sharing a cup of coffee and pouring out pearls of wisdom.
Shonta finds value in working with people from all walks of life and can find something in common with almost anyone. She is a hard worker evidenced by her current role as owner of Indigo Blooms Co. Shonta started her business out of a profound need to manage her work life schedule, to be more available to her family. She has combined all of her skills, acquired along her unique career path; and turned them into a unique Business. She merges her creativity and business acumen to produce amazing events all over the tri state area and beyond.
Shonta is now seeking to harness all of her education, business acumen and people skills to share in this move forward into a bright future for the East Penn School District. She is ready for a seat at the table and like any good dinner guest, she doesn’t come empty handed. She approaches this opportunity with energy, integrity and vision.
